Additional information: This sculpture by artist Earl W. Bascom, sculpted in 1977, depicts a crossbred longhorn steer branded with the U B Quarter Circle brand of the Bascom Ranch in the early 1900's in Canada. Such steers were used in the Canadian rodeo event of Steer Decorating. The artist Earl Bascom was one of the top contestants in the world in the steer decorating event in 1933 when he set a new world record time.
