- Additional information: The rodeo clown is one of the most colorful characters in the rodeo arena. Full of fun and dressed outlandishly, rodeo clowns keep the audience entertained wit their jokes and humorous antics. To the professional bull rider, the rodeo clown is more than just an entertainer. He is there to protect a downed cowboy from a loose and dangerous bull. The artist, Earl Bascom first tried his hand as a rodeo clown at the Stirling Stampede in Canada in the early 1930's. This bronze was sculpted in 1974.
